The Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB) is a multiple financial institution created in 1952 and organized as a private and public joint stock company, being more than 90% of its capital controlled by the Federal Government.
The largest South American institution oriented towards regional development, the BNB is the organism in charge of the materialization of public policies, being responsible for the operation of programs like the National Program for Family Agriculture Support (Pronaf) and the administration of the Northeastern Constitutional Financing Fund (FNE), the main source of funds operated by the Company. Besides federal resources, the Bank has access to other financing sources, both in the foreign and domestic markets, through partnerships and agreements with national and international institutions, including multilateral institutions like the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
