ICBC was celebrated as the «Best Corporate Citizen 2009» during the «China's Corporate Citizenship Forum 2009 & 6th China's Best Corporate Citizenship Award Ceremony» organized by 21st Century Business Herald and 21st Century Business Review. This was the second year that ICBC received the Award.
The survey on «China's Best Corporate Citizen» initiated by 21st Century News Group was the earliest poll conducted on «Corporate Citizen» in the country, and also one of the most influential corporate social responsibility awards in China. This year's review lasted for 6 months and covered all the companies and institutions in Mainland China. Out of them, the judging panel chose 500 candidate enterprises through rigorous analysis and screening. Under the principles of prudence, fairness and justice, the list of 30 winners was finalized by going through the Assessment Scheme of China's Best Corporate Citizen and this year's topical theme of «Learning-based Corporate Citizen». ICBC stayed ahead of all other companies and won the «Best Corporate Citizenship» Award.
In terms of social responsibility, ICBC has raised its standard in information disclosure over the past few years. ICBC has gained wide recognition from mainstream media and the public on its corporate citizenship image, proven by many awards received as «People's Social Responsibility», «Best Corporate Social Responsibility» and «Most Harmoniously Competitive Listed Company of China», etc.
